My journey into design

began during the pandemic - a time when the world paused, and I found space to explore something new. I was drawn to Graphic Design, captivated by the creativity and limitless potential of visual storytelling. That curiosity quickly grew, and as I dove deeper, I discovered the world of User Experience and Interface Design. It opened my eyes to how design could not only look beautiful, but it can also function meaningfully in people's lives. At one point, I explored and enrolled in business classes at Pierce College. But something was missing.

....

There was no creative process, no sense of connection. It became clear to me that my purpose was not to be involved with keeping books balanced and accounts active, it had always been rooted in making a positive digital impact - design was the path that allowed me to do that. So, I shifted gears and returned to what felt right. Tofay, I'm driven by empathy and the desire to create thoughtful, human-centered solutions that improve lives through design.

When tackling a problem,

I always start with research. Understanding the people that I am designing for is essential - it lays the foundation for everything that follows. From there, I move into idea generation and building out the design system, often using design sprints to explore and refine key features. I take the insights gathered and translate them into wireframes, which eventually evolve into high-fidelity prototypes. Since the process isn't linear, user testing and iteration happen continuously at every stage.
